At the interview:
- Be confident, smile and be yourself
- Listen and don’t jump in with an answer until the interviewer has finished speaking
- Ensure you understand the question being asked, and if not don’t be afraid to ask the interviewer to repeat the question
- Stay on track and ensure you answer the question asked and don’t go off track
- Use the STAR approach (see behavioral questioning) to structure your responses to questions that ask for a specific example of something
- Observe the interviewers body language in response to your answers
- Never swear- even if the interviewer does
- Ensure you have asked any necessary questions to give you an idea of whether or not the role might be suitable
